Shipping Policy
General Shipping Policy
Modern-fans.com ships to locations within the lower 48 states via UPS
Ground or Fedex Ground. All orders over $100 include free Ground shipping
via UPS or Fedex. Orders under $100 will be charged a minimum of $9.85
shipping & handling fee. If you need to expedite your shipping (Next
Day, 2nd Day services), please contact us to find shipping costs.
Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and outside the U.S.
For order to Alaska, Hawaii, and outside the U.S., please contact
us for pricing to your area and for shipping costs. Shipping outside
the continental US will be charge frieght.
Most orders are dropped shipped directly from the manufacturers to your
shipping address. It typically takes 7-10 days to process and ship out
an order. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an automated
email notifying you of your shipment. The time it takes to receive your
order will depend on the manufacturer location and your shipping address.
If an item is backordered by the manufacturer, you will be notified immediately
via email or phone call.
From time to time, items will be placed on backorder. Please contact
us prior to placing your order to confirm lead times for each item.
Next Day or 2nd Day Shipping
Unless otherwise specified, your order will be shipped via UPS Ground
or Fedex Ground. If you would like to receive your order faster, we can
ship your order using Next Day or 2nd Day services. Please contact
us prior to your order to check on availability of your item(s) and
to receive additional shipping costs.

Return Policy
- 30 Days Return Policy:
You may return any item within 30 days of receipt of goods. There will
be a 20% restocking fee on all returned fans.
All returns must be accompanied by a sales receipt and an RGA number.
Returned products must not have been installed and be in original condition
with original carton and packaging. If an item has been installed or
is not in original condition with all original packaging, it will not
be accepted. Customers are responsible for all shipping charges back
to us on returned items. Please read the following for more details.
- RETURN AUTHORIZATION:
Returns will be accepted only with a valid RGA (Return Goods
Authorization) number. RGA numbers may be requested via email.
The following information needs to be provided:

Order Number
Item(s) to be returned
Reason for return
Once a valid RGA number is received, this number must be clearly written
on the outside of all packages to be returned. Packages without
a valid RGA number referenced on the outside of the box will be not
be opened and will be returned to the shipper.

Customers are responsible for all shipping charges back to us on returned
items.
- PACKAGE CONDITION:
Do NOT write on the box. these boxes cannot be written on in order to
keep them in re sellable condition. All parts must be in the box. If
the box is destroyed by being written on, or there are any missing parts,
we will be forced to charge you the 40% restocking fee to cover the
expense in recovering the parts to repackage the new fan. We do not
accept fans that have been used and hung. ONLY USE CLEAR TAPE to re-seal
packages.
- REPORT US IMEDIATELY:
Please inspect your merchandise immediately and carefully upon receipt.
Any damaged merchandise received must be reported to modern-fans.com
within 24 hours of receipt. Customer bears full responsibility
for any damages not reported within this 24 hour period.
- DEFECTIVE CEILING FANS:
In the unfortunate event you receive a defective ceiling fan, please
notify us and ship the fan back to us. In return we will ship your replacement
at our cost. please understand we are only the dealer and not the manufacturer
and do our best to provide you with quality fans, but in order to enjoy
the lower price of shopping on the internet, we can not be liable for
all shipping charges. All defective fans will be tested by our technicians
and require all parts in the box to be returned unless noted by your
us. If the fan is not defective after we test it, you will be responsible
for return shipping charges or a 30% restock since its a hung at this
point.
- INCORRECT ORDER:
In the unfortunate event your receive the incorrect fan, please contact
us. We will then issue a call tag, and you have the option of putting
a temporary charge on your card so we can send out your replacement
immediately and get credit once the incorrect one returns, or wait for
us to receive the incorrect package, then we will send out your replacement.
if you have open boxes, they must be re-sealed and in resealable condition.
- DAMAGE DURING SHIPPING:
We insure all our packages shipped to you. If there is any damage to
your fan during shipping, we will need to file a claim with UPS or FedEx.
We do inspect each package before shipment to ensure there is no damage,
any damage that occurs after UPS or FedEx receives the package is beyond
our control. You do not need to file a claim with UPS or FedEx if the
fan is defective.
- MISSING PARTS:
All of our ceiling fans ar brand new, not refurbished or reconditioned.
If you are missing parts, please contact us immediately.
- REFUNDS:
All shipping costs will be deducted from the amount credited back to
you. If you refuse shipment, the fees associated with that is your responsibility.
If a package is returned by UPS due to no signature, the shipping fees
for returning to us and back to you is the buyer's responsibility. Please
allow up to 2 weeks for the refund.
