Includes 3", 6" and 16" downrods for 11", 14" and 24" overall lengths. To calculate overall height when using optional downrods, add 8" to the downrod length. The Ball fan represents a return to the Company's roots, deriving from a minimalist approach to ceiling fan design. A perfect sphere provides visual simplicity while housing all the components required for exceeding the EPAs Energy Star guidelines for air movement efficiency (rating applies to fan only).
The Ball is all die-cast aluminum and offered in either a gloss white or a hand brushed aluminum finish. The blades are a plywood laminate with a gloss white coating or metallic aluminum paint to match the brushed finish.
The Ball fan is available with options for ambient lighting. Optional light kit lamping choices- 75W G9 halogen (not included) or 18W GU24 low profile self-ballasted compact fluorescent (included). Light kits will add 1" to overall height of the fan.
The motor is a high power silicon steel design with 16 poles. These motors are designed for long life and silent running, and are controlled by dual capacitors. The fan speed and the light can be operated by any one of four control options described in the controls section of this product page. Note: Any control ordered with a fan that has been configured with an energy-saving CFL will be supplied in a non-dimming version. All Modern Fan Co. products carry a damp location UL/CUL listing.
The Ball is available in several standard heights using the optional downrods . The fan body (sphere) itself is 8" in diameter at blade rotor. The fan can accomodate up to 33 degree sloped ceiling; for slopes over 33 degrees but under 45 degrees, use the sloped ceiling adaptor (sold separately).
