Includes 6" and 13" downrods for 17" and 24" overall lengths. To calculate overall height when using optional downrods, add 11" to the downrod length. The Cirrus/Short was developed in 1997 as an alternative to the Cirrus fan. The cylindrical body was truncated and the motor housing hung from a more conventional downrod to adapt better to long drops and to give a different look than the Cirrus. The fan (only) is Energy Star certified.
Even though the Cirrus is our smallest fan it uses the most powerful GE style motor. This power with the 14 degree blade pitch will do a great job moving the air.
The Cirrus is all die-cast aluminum and offered in a gloss white and hand brushed aluminum finish. The balanced blades are either injection molded acrylic in an innovative curved shape or standard plywood laminate.
The motor is a high power silicon steel unit with 18 poles, designed for long life and cool running, and is controlled by two capacitors. The Cirrus motor can run at any of three speeds set by the control. The Modern Fan Company offers several switching and control options for both speed and light control. Please see the controls section. All Modern Fan Co. products carry a damp location UL/CUL listing.
The Cirrus is available in several standard lengths using the optional downrods .. The diameter of the body is 6" at the point where the blade enters the rotor.
The fan can accomodate up to 33 degree sloped ceiling; for slopes over 33 degrees but under 45 degrees, use the sloped ceiling adaptor (sold separately).
Optional light kits:
350- 75W PAR16 halogen spot light, provides direct illumination. Adds 2" to height of the fan.
352- 75W A19 incandescent, glass globe diffuses light and provides general illumination. Adds 3" to height of the fan.
353- 26W GU24 low profile compact fluorescent, glass globe diffuses light and provides general illumination. Adds 3" to height of the fan.
Note: Any control ordered with a fan that has been configured with an energy-saving CFL will be supplied in a non-dimming version.
