Product Description:
Includes 4" and 10" downrods
for 18" and 24" overall lengths. The Nimbus was the
first new design by Ron Rezek exclusively for the Modern Fan Company.
It incorporates several important innovative mechanical and design
features not found in other fans.
These features include: a die-cast zinc body which enables the
Nimbus to be plated with a nickel finish, a new uncluttered canopy
with concealed screws, a built-in light, a standard slope ceiling
adapter, five blades and a thin down rod design. In addition the
Nimbus is the first ceiling fan to use a rotor/blade holder which
is placed on top of the fan. This enables easy blade installation
from the top and gives plenty of room for a light using a standard
incandescent bulb.
The Nimbus is offered in gloss white, matte nickel and a dark
bronze. The white and nickel versions are shipped with white blades
and the bronze is shipped with black blades. Red mahogany, medium
maple and painted nickel blades are also available.
The Nimbus is powered by a high silicon steel motor incorporating
16 poles and using sealed bearings to insure long life and cool
running. The five blades and the balanced rotor give the Nimbus
a turbine-like smoothness of operation. The fan speed and the
light can be operated by one of three control options described
in the controls section of this catalog. All Modern Fan Co. products
carry a UL/CUL listing.
The Nimbus is available in several standard, as well as custom
lengths and with a 42" or 52" blade span. The diameter
of the sphere is 9.375" at the place where the blade rotor
enters the body. This fan can accomodate up to 33 degree sloped
ceiling; for slopes over 33 degrees but under 45 degrees, use
the sloped ceiling adaptor (sold separately).
